57kg:

Muhammad Bilal (Pak): The 20-year-old Pakistani wrestler had participated in the 2014 Asian Games. He lost in the opening round to a Turkmenistan wrestler. He has the experienced at this level to aim for a medal in these games.

Ravinder (Ind): He is a talented wrestler who won a silver medal in the National championship. He will be a medal hope for the host.

61kg:

Abdul Wahab (Pak): The 21-year-old had represented Pakistan in the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Lasantha Ekanayake (Sri): Has taken part in the World championship and will be a leading competitor from Sri Lanka.

Pradeep Kumar (Ind): A silver medal winner in the National championship.

65kg:

Milinda Weerasinghe (Sri): The 25-year-old wrestler has competed in the Asian Games and is one of the prominent grapplers from Sri Lanka.

Rajneesh Dalal (Ind): A Commonwealth championship gold medallist, Rajneesh had been in the National scene for quite some years and has performed well. He recently bagged the silver medal in the National championship after going down to Bajrang Punia.

70kg:

Amit Dhankar (Ind): A former Asian champion and winner of several Commonwealth championship medals, including two gold, Dhankar is known for his tough fighting skills. The Indian who hails from Haryana will be the favourite to win the South Asian Games gold medal.

74kg:

Muhammad Asad Butt (Pak): He has taken part in the Asian Games and is considered one of the best wrestlers in Pakistan. He will aspire to claim a medal in these Games.

Sheikh Shepon (Ban) : Has got the experience to be able to put up a good fight here. He has participated in the Asian Beach Games and the Club World championship.

Pardeep (Ind): A former Asian junior champion, he has been among the promising wrestlers who are waiting in their wings to make it big at the highest level. He had represented Mumbai Garuda in the Pro Wrestling League and performed well and bagged the silver medal in the recently-concluded National championship.

86kg:

Bunilal (Nep) : A silver medallist in the previous South Asian Games he will be a strong medal prospect for Nepal.

Muhammad Inam (Pak): The 26-year-old Pakistani wrestler had disappointed the Indian fans by defeating accomplished wrestler Anuj Kumar in the 84kg final of 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. He has also competed in the Asian Games and will be a strong contender for the gold medal here.

Mizanur Rahman (Ban): The 42-year-old from Bangladesh is one of the senior most wrestlers in the South Asian Games. It will be interesting to see how he performs.

97kg:

Mausam Khatri (Ind): The seasoned wrestler is a National champion and has bagged several international medals including a bronze in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou. He will be a big medal hope for the host. Bagged silver medal in this year’s National championship.

125kg:

Satyendra Prasad Yadav (Nep): The 32-year-old wrestler had bagged a silver in the 11th South Asian Games and will try to win another medal for Nepal this time.

Zaman Anwar (Pak): The 24-year-old Pakistani wrestler had participated in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and will look forward to make an impact in the South Asian Games.

Mongno Marma (Ban): The 1976-born wrestler from Bangladesh is one of the rare 40-year-olds in the competition.

Women:

48kg:

Priyanka Singh (Ind): The winner of a silver medal in the Commonwealth championship the UP wrestler will be a medal prospect for the host.

63kg:

Shilpi Sheoran (Ind) : She has competed in several international meets, including the World championship. She got a silver medal in this year’s National championship.

75kg:

Nikki (Ind): This Haryana wrestler is one of the leading grapplers in the heavy weight and has taken part in some elite events including the World championship.
